Dear Cowgirl: Letters to Women, Adrian Brannan
Musician and author of Dear Cowgirl: Letters to Women, Adrian Brannan grew up before the western world’s eyes as a singer. However, this retired ranch bronc rider and cowboy-girl is anything but ordinary. Following an early professional career rooted in western cowboy music at only 14 years old, Adrian’s latest album Desert Dwelling Mama took the Billboard Music and iTunes charts by storm. Released in 2018, the record held strong for a week at #5 as the sole independent record alongside musical greats like George Strait, Chris Stapleton, and fellow cowboy singer Cody Johnson. Desert Dwelling Mama also won the coveted Wrangler Award presented by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum at the Western Heritage Awards, which honors the top works in Western music, film, television, and literature. Desert Dwelling Mama continues to rank on the top Country Album Sales charts four years later.
The same year that Adrian's chart-topping, award-winning album was released, she built on the success of her series of publicly written letters on social media and created a private online group called Dear Cowgirl. It is now a community numbering in the hundreds of thousands of people from across the globe.
Adrian’s first book, Dear Cowgirl: Letters to Women was published in 2018 while she was building her own herd of cattle and attending college. Her second book, Dear Cowgirl: 100 Poems of Hope, was published in 2022. A new album is also in the works. It will feature several duets with acclaimed performers and will take its listeners back to Adrian's roots and authentic cowboy music.
